HALL HOUSE ONE+ALPHAVILLE.

The hall house was designed for a young couple with one child in otsu - shiga, japan. The limited budget and space requirements were tough, but the architects also had to deal with a oddly shaped and tiny site that was on an incline to boot. Inside the architects began with a garage at the lowest point then moved into a living space with theatre and billiards. From there, the house steps up to the kitchen and dinning area and then further upwards toward the bedroom and bathroom. A terrace sites a the mid point between the bedroom and kitchen levels. The architects used a monocoque form made from reinforced concrete to achieve this compact living quarters.
