Alot has changed about the Hollywood scene. We were never 'in' to the mainstream but being away from that crowd for so long makes me miss it. The music changed from top 40s to mash-ups and trance to electro. We hop'd Hollywood and checked the old spots. Star Shoes is called Vice now. The Room is no longer just a room[in size] and the entrance is on the front. The back still smells like... well, you know. The Beauty Bar was closed but I'm sure it's the same. Cinespace is still mad hipster-ish. The only place I know that has the same crowd today and eight years ago. :/
