MMM FOOD: HOT & JUICY.

There are many Las Vegas alternatives. Say we want some hot dogs... since Pink's is not very good here; we can get Nathan's. For carne asada fries... we have Roberto's instead of Alberto's. [Though I found other more authentic Mexican joints around my neighborhood.]

The alternative to the Boiling Crab is a place called Hot & Juicy Crawfish. The place is good but not great. Their sauce lacks that one ingredient that the Boiling Crab perfected. And Hot & Juicy is not consistent. We order mild sauces and it comes out as fire[AND VICE VERSA]. The big plus about the place is that the condiments are plenty. They have all a filipino house would have and it makes me feel right at home.

The next thing I need to find is a a good bacon wrapped hot dog cart.

MMM FOOD: MEMPHIS BARBEQUE.

Went to a local rib spot in the southside. The menu was basic and the food had that familiar smokey flavor as ribs should taste. I am more accustomed to LA rib joints where the recipes are sweeter. The sauce at Memphis had a strong vinegar taste to it. Good but not fantastic.

I took a picture of this beast of a sampler platter. The highlights of the plate were fried pickles and fried okra. MmMM fried pickles.

DO-IT-YOURSELF GOOOD.

Dee and eye had a crazy craving for shrimp and crab last week. I wanted to go for cajun cause I was too tired to cook. She said she would do all the work if I bought the ingredients. Deal, sonn! We went to our local Asian market and shopped for the stuff.

Here's a fun fact: Asian markets will fry up any fish that you purchase from them.

We head to Henderson to check out a friend's new pad and decided to cook there. Thing I notice about Dee is that she cooks with margarine instead of butter. Ok. People are different. I cook with butter. She sauteed the shrimp and it had this surprising smokey flavor[my mouth is watering]. Sh*t was soo good. The dungeness crab was cooked to perfection as well[salivating no joke]. Soo fatty. I got so excited eating the thing that I sliced my thumb with the shell. It was pretty deep but didn't notice until I washed my hands. My clothes smelled like a filipino house and hands like shrimp the whole night. Soo worth it.

MMM FOOD: GRAPE STREET.

We went to Carl's restaurant near Summerlin and had a tour of Italia. The food was very good for the price point. I had the angel hair pasta with a white wine sauce. Delish! Doreen had a linguini and seafood with a red sauce. Nothing spectacular.

Here are the highlights of the meal:

Tuna Crudo
Angel Hair Pasta
Chocolate Fondue

The soy ginger sauce complemented the dish.

The tiramisu was eehhh.

Chocolate covered banana. No Homo.

Fondue would be a good date food.

Their dinner specials were quite extensive.

Thank you for a great meal, Carl.

POKE EXPRESS.

I've been passing this place every night after work. I wanted to check it out on my days off but I'm never home on my weekends. I stopped by a week ago and the selection was extensive. I tried out the yuzu ahi poke for starters[plus a crab salad and fresh seaweed]. The place was more of a market style because there was no dining area. Took the food home and broke out a bottle of riesling I've been saving. It was a great meal.

DINNER FOR ONE.

-Cinista.

SULA BBQ BUFFET.

Restaurants pop up in Vegas every month. It is a neverending search for authentic tastes because everything has been oversaturated and fushioned[watered down]. Sula is one of the many all-you-can-eat korean bbq spots here and they [might] already have my vote for number one. Sula serves a dish that the other places do not. The place is huge... you're not bumping into people while your getting your food. Thank you Doreen and Carl for the meal. It was fun critiquing the food with you guys.

I've been looking for these little shrimps in Vegas for a long time. A place on the strip called Kimchee served it before. It tastes like dried squid. If you don't know...

The kalbi and bulgogi was too sweet for my taste. The unseasoned meats were a good alternative.

I give Sula three and a half stars. Not great but not bad either.

What do you think, professor?

SERENDIPITY3.

Woke up on a saturday morning with no headache or hangover cause I was still drunk as f*ck! If I drove that day I could have gotten a DUI with three times the legal limit. No joke. Everything was spinning including my stomach. I needed food stat cause the party was going on that night and doesn't end until tuesday. We head to a spot with frozen hot chocolate[the hype of the month according to chicks]. It was a hot, hot day and they sit us outside. fml. Whatevs. I was getting sober[with that heat] quicklike.

The food was a disappointment. I didn't really care cause I needed anything. Just anything. If I can say one positive about the place is that the presentation was gimicky but eye pleasing.

I love Lamp.

After lunch we head back to the rooms to get ready for a swim. We run in to this mariachi band with a dude clenching hard. Did he have to fart? Everyone was curious. Jen comes in for a closer look.

Tomfoolery. Hahahahahaa.
