Portishead's 60's soundtrack music style is assembled with dubbed hip hop beats and detached female vocals. The familiar syncopation and turntable scratches with outer space bleeps gives an easily identifiable refined sound.. So once you hear a Portishead track, you know it's a Portishead track. Broading sense of menace. Deep conviction on the romantic fatalism tip. Laconic tone with repetitive streaks of despair and emotional upheaval. Beth Gibbons and the rest of the squad is back like cooked crack with their third album, Third. Just a heads up, quality is not in it's prime.
